Community

The Community Program creates spaces for connection, belonging, and mutual support for the Ukrainian community in Michigan. Through events, support groups, and shared resources, we foster opportunities for people to come together, build relationships, and strengthen community ties.

Our goal is to reduce isolation, encourage meaningful connections, and support community members as they navigate life in a new environment—together.

Past & Foundational Community Efforts

Since the arrival of Ukrainian refugees in Michigan, UASMI has supported community-building initiatives that bring people together in safe, welcoming spaces. Through social gatherings, discussion groups, and collaborative events, we have helped community members connect, share experiences, and support one another.

These early efforts laid the foundation for trust, collective resilience, and a sense of belonging that continues to shape our work today.
